I am giving this watch a 10 stars because it’s is simply the best. The in built heart rate monitor is a game changer, you can have constant stream of data about the state of heart and your stress level.
The battery life is great , a full charge gives give you a good full week of running even with Bluetooth messaging bring enabled.
This watch is not touch screen but I can totally live with that.
The garmin watches aren’t watches that you need to babysit like the Apple Watch and fitbits. This watch is rugged , robust, you can trust to take it to mountain hikes and if you fall or whatever, you can trust that it won’t break.
The Fenix 5 is fully water proof up to 100 meter.
If you are serious runner, cyclist, yriathloner , this watch does have all the metrics you need to improve your activies VO2 max , pace, stride length , heart rate zones, vertical oscillation, balance between feet and mymuch more.
This watch will take your training to the next level. Coupled with the back end mobile application and online platform, you can visualise your activities and see where you can improve.
I have owned a Fenix 3 before and the buttons sort of collapsed and stopped working properly within 2 years , I wasn’t very happy with that. However, when I think about buying a spots watch Garmin is the one I will always get. It’s gps capabilities are the most efficient on the market. All the other watches are just gimmicks , loaded with useless functionalities and omitting the necessary ones.
It’s not a cheap watch but the value for money is the highest if you compare it to the Apple Watch for instance.
