This is a play by Simon Stephens based on the novel of the same name by Mark Haddon that I have seen this weekend. This play gave me an amazing insight on what autism can be and how it can affect the behaviour of a young mind and everyone around them. Autism is different from person to person and can manifest in a variety of ways but this play will give you a raw version of a jacked up autistic mind. The play is light even though it presses on a heavy subject. It is entirely unpredictable and humanise the condition and highlight the misunderstand of it by the general public. It is worth watching as it is educating as well as entertaining. The stage was avant-garde to say the least and the use of lights, sounds and motion even with an ultra minimalistic cubic décor has exceeded my expectation of what can be achieved with so little. I would recommend this play to anyone and everyone. I would give it more then a 10 star review if I can. Go and watch it now!!!
